Awning Side
retractable awning how to get side shade?
we have a retractable awning and we wanted shade from the sun on the side
Try this… get some velcro and canvas from a fabric store. Sew one side of the the velcro to the awning and the other to one end of the canvas. Cut the canvas about 4″ longer than the desired length (bottom of awning to the floor). Buy a 3/4″ or 1″ metal pipe about the width of the canvas and sew a loop in the bottom of the canvas. Place the pipe in the loop to act as a weight. If it reaches all the way to the floor, it should provide enough weight/stability so it doesn’t whip around in the wind.
