How to do I use a cookie press when making sugar cookies?
I bought one from a flea market that the lady used once but it didn’t have instructions.
When I make the dough for sugar cookies, do I still need to let it sit in the fridge to firm up or do I immediately place the dough in the barrel and begin pressing?
You don’t need to chill it first, but do let the do sit for a minute and relax, as someone else said.
Other important things to remember when using a cookie shooter, if you’ve never done so before:
-don’t use chips/sprinkles/etc inside the shooter! sprinkle them or press them on afterward.
-one click really is enough, I promise.
-use a plain, ungreased cookie sheet with your cookie shooter – don’t use parchment paper. It saves on mess, I know, but it can make using the shooter a little more difficult.
